Exhibition – The Patriot Mason: Freemasonry in American Society.
This month, on the anniversary of America’s Independence Day, the United Grand Lodge of England’s (UGLE) Library and Museum of Freemasonry unveiled a new exhibit: “The Patriot Mason: Freemasonry in American Society.”
Located in Freemasons’ Hall in London, the Library and Museum of Freemasonry serves as the repository for the United Grand Lodge of England’s archives.
The collection details the role of Freemasonry in American society from the 18th century through present day. The exhibit features numerous rare artifacts from the museum’s collection, including elaborate Masonic regalia worn by American Freemasons. Additionally, one of the world’s rarest Masonic books, published by Benjamin Franklin in 1734, will be on display.
Two artifacts on loan from the Henry W. Coil Library & Museum of Freemasonry are also part of the exhibit – an armband from the Masonic Ambulance Corps of California and a Knights Templar Fatigue Kepi.
